FC Dynamo Kyiv head coach Oleksandr Shovkovskyi answered media questions after the away game against FC Oleksandria (0:0):
- It seems that Taras Mykhavko, who takes the field in every game, is the most exhausted player.
- Let’s count how many games the team played lately. Let’s count how much time we had for recovery. We totally realized what kind of game this would be. We knew we need to defend properly first of all. That’s what we did. I don’t think we had a lot of defensive problems. I guess there’re no teams that play evenly in each competitions, maybe beside Liverpool. Barcelona, Real Madrid and others lose points. There’s nothing you can do with the schedule.
- It seemed like both sides were okay with the draw, so no one wanted to risk. Are you satisfied with the outcome?
- We always aim to win, but there’re certain circumstances that can affect things. We’ve got an extra day to get ready for the next game, which is great. We didn’t have that before previous matches. We lost points today, but our team completed the first round without a single defeat.
- Despite the tight schedule, you made only two substitutions today.
- Try getting the team ready having two days. Not once, but numerous times. We need a recovery day, when players don’t get exercise load.
- What do you think about the turf? It seemed frosty.
- Everyone wants to play on perfect pitches, in front of full stands, but it’s December. We know our climate. The turf was pretty good for December.
- Which Oleksandria players did the best job today?
- I don’t follow players, I follow the actions of my team, their movements. I will always protect my players and demand the maximum from them. Today was a fairly principled, frank game on the verge of roughness, but we didn’t cross this line. As for me, it’s great. We need more games like that in the UPL. That will facilitate the development of Ukrainian football.
