Difference between Semin and Blokhin based on last game against Zorya Luhansk

Last season the win in Luhansk was also vital for the White and Blues, but that time Yuriy Semin’s men didn’t manage to defeat Zorya. The way our team played in general disappointed fans even more. Dynamo played defensive football with minimum attacking playmakers.

This time Zorya also had ambitious plans as for the game against Kyivans. But nothing of the kind has happened. Oleh Blokhin has proved that there is a sharp difference between his game plan and his predecessor’s. But first of all let’s have a look at the White and Blues starting disposal. Taras Mykhalyk missed the game because of the red card he got in Lviv. Yevhen Selin and Roman Bezus weren’t among first eleven. But Lukman Haruna and Andriy Yarmolenko took the field again after one-match suspension. Taye Taiwo played as left back.

Game aspects

Before the game it was interesting to see how Blokhin would solve the problem with center backs. But Danilo Silva and Domagoj Vida have demonstrated a very confident play.

Home side started the game actively so Dynamo tried to use counterattacks. Lukman Haruna tried to score from distance several times. Denys Harmash was active and his passes were usually straight. Our wingers Husiev and Yarmolenko played aggressively for attack so there’s no wonder that Zorya defense didn’t cope with the pressure.

29 minutes into the match Brown Ideye centered the ball to Yarmolenko and Andriy opened the score.

Six minutes before the half time Ideye got a long pass from Husiev, entered the box, tricked the defender and hit the far corner – 0:2!

In the first half Dynamo scored once more but the referee called the goal off because of offside. Denys Harmash was booked for arguing. After the break Blokhin substituted him with Sydorchuk.

Ten minutes before the time Bezus assisted Ideye who scored his second goal of the game. Eight minutes later Roman scored with a long-range shot. It was his first goal for Dynamo!

Right before the final whistle Ignatievic fouled inside the box and Oleh Husiev scored from penalty – 5:0!

Key episode

The most important point was dedication our players have demonstrated. Fans must have noticed that Semin’s defensive tactics is gone.

Top person

Strikers’ main task is to appear in the right place at the right time.

Andriy Yarmolenko has proved he is capable of that. He opened the score which was very important.
