The majority of the White-Blues 1961 “golden team” performers were invited to the club by Oleh Oshenkov, but the first one, who was spotted by Viacheslav Soloviov, was 19-year-old Serebrianykov.
Viktor Petrovych was FC Metalurh Zaporizhia trainee. Ex-Dynamo experienced players Serhiy Korshunov and Viktor Terentiev, who joined Metalurh later, helped him to bright his talent to light.
Kyiv supporters saw Serebrianykov in the squad of their team for the first time on September 13 1959 as Dynamo played a sparring against USSR national team.
The White-Blues lost that game 2:5.
Viktor played as left winger, but he didn’t like this position. Soloviov went mad and made him feature for the reserve team, but on the right flank. That was a right decision.
Viktor won the Soviet Top League four times and USSR Cup twice with Dynamo. He also became the best player of the Soviet Union twice. Serebrianykov took part in three World Cups (1962, 1966 and 1970).
It should be mentioned that Viktor netted 70 goals in the domestic league with a lot of them after set pieces due to his perfect curler. Experienced supporters still remember the most spectacular ones.
