After quite impressive performances for FC Dynamo Kyiv fans were looking forward to his debut for Ukraine. That happened on March 31 2015 in the friendly against Lithuania (1:1). After the game Serhiy stated: “I was supposed to help both defense and attack. As for me, we lacked mutual understanding in the midfield. That’s why I’m not quite satisfied with my debut”.
Anyway Rybalka gained confidence gradually, especially after the Euro-2016 away qualifier against Macedonia and home match against Slovenia.
The Yellow-Blues won both fixtures 2:0. After that Rybalka (height – 176 cm, weight – 68 kg) made following conclusions: “Now I feel comfortable. I know many of my teammates, so I don’t have any problems with adaptation”.
On the way to France 25-year-old supporting midfielder made 6 appearances (362 minutes) including two-match play-off duel against Slovenia.
