Young halfback has been spotted by Ukraine national team head coach Mykhailo Fomenko. Serhiy has got a call-up for 2014 World Cup qualification playoffs.
- What do you feel now that you’ve been called-up to the national team?
- I’m really glad. It’s great news. Frankly speaking it was surprising for me.
- Ukraine have very serious opponent – France national team…
- That’s why both matches will be interesting. Who knows, maybe I won’t take the field.
- Are you ready to make your debut for Ukraine against the Tri-colors?
- I am. Of course if the head coach gives me a chance. I want Ukraine national team to qualify for the World Cup. Frenchmen don’t take us seriously, which can play a low-down trick with them.
- Anyway at first FC Dynamo Kyiv are to face FC Thun away. In what mood do you go to Switzerland?
- Of course the defeat against FC Zorya Luhansk was a failure, but we have combative mood for the Europa League fixture.
- What are your impressions of the Swiss side after the game in Kyiv?
- They are orderly team. We analyzed their play in detail before the first match. We’ll try to perform in Thun the same way we did in Kyiv. As far as I know Arena Thun has artificial turf. Still I guess it’s of good quality.
- Won’t the defeat against Zorya have impact on Dynamo morals?
- It shouldn’t. These are different competitions. We must win against Thun.
