- I guess everyone was waiting for some revenge and spectacular play. Unfortunately that’s not what we witnessed in the first half. All teams that participate in the Europa League are good ones.
Before the break we had problems with teamwork. In the second half I saw it, especially after our performer was sent off. Players realized how important it was to act collectively. I’m thankful to them for bearing the test. Aalborg are really serious opponent. I’m glad that we’ve defeated them.
- Don’t you think referee should have booked Dragović instead of sending him off?
- If it was a desperate foul, then what booking are you talking about? Still I suppose Vida could spot for Dragović. Anyway I can’t say for sure right now.
- When Burda took the field you had same defenders as in the match in Aalborg, but they performed on different positions…
- Players, who feature as laterals today, do what we want them to as well as they can. Unfortunately their actions lack synchronism. Still it’s important that we’ve kept the clean sheet in the second game in a row.
- What improved Dynamo play in the second half?
- During the break players had a man-to-man talk. They told what they weren’t satisfied with and in the second half they featured as sole team. Maybe when our performers realize that goal is vital they start acting faster.
- How serious is Shovkovskyi’s injury?
- In the locker room he said that he’s fine. Anyway he’ll undergo magnetic resonance tomography tomorrow.
- Why did you decide to substitute Yarmolenko?
- That’s because late in the second half Andriy didn’t work for defense. Players can take offense at me, but when they don’t work properly supporters notice that. I respect Andriy, but in such situation I have a right to substitute him.
- Did you substitute Lens for the same reason?
- No, we substituted Lens only because Dragović was sent off.
- When will Mbokani and Harmash step back into ranks?
- Mbokani is a very good performer. We need him, but player can’t start featuring after injury at once. He is to undergo some preparation. Mbokani knows that. I hope he’ll help us this season, but it’s all in his hands.
As for Harmash, unfortunately he has some problems. Denys is reconditioning and in two weeks doctors will decide what should be done next. He’s trying to recover as quickly as possible.
