Dynamo Kyiv managed to overcome old rivals FC Spartak Moskva at Luzhniki Stadium in their UEFA Champions League third round first-leg match. Ismaël Bangoura and Artem Milevskyy both struck twice to achieve an important victory.
The host team took the lead early on when Spartak forward Nikita Bazhenov kicked the ball into the far corner. Soon after scoring the first goal Spartak had an opportunity to double their advantage, but Vladimir Bistrov's shot from close range was successfully parried by Oleksandr Shovkovskyy.
The equalizer came in the 28th minute. Ismaël Bangoura hit a shot high through the middle and scored for Dynamo Kiev after Spartak goalkeeper's mistake. Later on the Guinean striker could net one more time but unfortunately missed the target. However, the visitors began to control the game and dominate on the pitch. The situation was improved in first-half added time when the White-Blues' striker Artem Milevskyy put the ball into Pletikosa's goal.
Within a minute of the restart, Bangoura struck his second, giving his side a 1-3 lead. Five minutes from the full-time whistle, the Kyivers were leading by three goals. Bangoura robbed Martin Jiránek and served up an excellent pass to Milevskyy, who didn't blow his chance to score.
