- This game could have not happened as we won both the league and Ukrainian Cup. I expected my players wouldn’t have as much motivation as opponents. Such matches are often played till the first goal. Unfortunately we didn’t use our chances while opponents did. Shakhtar deserve this win and I congratulate them.
In the locker-room, we talked about team spirit and about what happened on the field. You can lose a game, but you mustn’t lose scrimmage. We played casually and leisurely. We’ll analyze this match. In 11 days we’ll face Shakhtar in the UPL.
I didn’t like the atmosphere of aggression in this game. I didn’t like it when Shakhtar coaching staff rushed to the field. They were also constantly yelling at us. This is my response to the statement according to which we, allegedly, put pressure on referees. What I see is that we get more yellow cards than our opponents. As for me, it’s disrespect to our team, coaches and players. I never comment upon opponents’ behavior, but we must respond when under attack.
There was no fair play at Shakhtar bench today. Such behavior is inappropriate when two leading teams of the country take the field.
Anyway, I congratulate Shakhtar on this victory. They’re good team with decent players and big investments. I don’t think they should create such aggressive atmosphere. I hope that won’t happen again.
- Dynamo started the game pretty well, but after 20 minutes gave the upper hand to Shakhtar. What’s the reason?
- There’re no insignificant details in such games. One rough mistake changed the situation. Opponent eluded Mykolenko and then they didn’t cope with Traore. I guess it’s all about the lack of experience. Things changed after that goal. Shakhtar got confident while our players got nervous. They started using long balls although I told them to maintain possession.
- This was your fourth match against Shakhtar as Dynamo coach and you’ve lost two of them by three goals to nil. How bitter is this?
- We didn’t have a single defeat against Shakhtar for almost a year. It’s hard to motivate players constantly. We must analyze everything and move on.
- What do you think of Supriaha’s performance?
- The absence of Besedin and Popov has impact in such games, when you need strength and speed. Anyway, I don’t want to make up excuses. Shakhtar did better today.
