Taras Mykhalyk on his injury and CL hopes

Dynamo midfielder Taras Mykhalyk, who turned 24 on October 28, has not gone out on the pitch for nearly a month. The Ukraine international strained his knee in the Champions League Group F encounter vs. Sporting. “I keep working individually and can not say for sure when I will be able to join my mates in training. I will have to keep away from serious exercises for at least two weeks and so far can only do some running”.

At the pre-match press conference before the game vs. Man. United Dynamo head coach József Szabó said he wished he had 22 Mykhalyks on the roster. “I did not hear the words from the coach. Nor did I read about this in the papers. But the coach’s praise makes you feel committed and work even harder”

With Dynamo’s three defeats in the Champions League campaign and three recent narrow victories in the Ukrainian League, the question what has been going wrong appears almost inevitable. “A lot of players being constantly in the treatment room, the coaches can not choose the regular first-team squad, which is in no way good. Although I have not attended Vincenzo Pincolini’s training, the arrival of the new fitness coach should “whip up” the team. Our chances to advance to the CL knock-out stage are rather slender, but the 3rd place sounds quite possible”.

“In the Ukrainian League, it does not matter whether you win convincingly or narrowly. It is the result that counts. It also might be that the national competition level is a bit upping”.
