- Dynamo have been interested in me for a while. I knew Kyiv side followed my performances even before the U-21 European Championship, where I was Poland captain. After the contest this interest became more definite and mutual. I wanted to join such a great club with rich traditions that performs in the Champions League regularly and fights for domestic title every season. I’m proud to be here and I’m ready for the next stage in my career.
- Was it difficult to leave your country and native club?
- Of course it was. Lech Poznan have brought me up as a player. I’ve won almost everything in Poland with the team except for the national cup. Now I’m glad I can aim for new goals in the Champions League. I think this transfer is a serious step for Dynamo and for me.
- Tamas Kadar, who used to perform for Lech, also features for Dynamo today. Lukasz Teodorczyk also was your teammate. Have you conferred with any of them about the transfer to Kyiv?
- Sure, I talked to Tamas and Ukrainian Kostevych, who plays for Lech, but mostly I conferred with Teodorczyk as he’s one of my best friends.
- In one of your interviews you said that your father is a football coach, but you mom was the one, who taught you to play football…
- The thing is that when I was a kid my father was still a player and mom often took me to the park, where I played ball.
- You used to oppose Ukraine youth team with Poland U-21. Do you remember any players from our team?
- I remember we faced Ukraine at least three times. Lech also opposed Dynamo in a friendly at the training camp in Spain. As for my current teammates, I know Khacheridi and Yarmolenko. There’re many good performers in the team.
- You’re Poland U-21 leader. You also used to be Lech skipper. How long will it take you to become Dynamo leading player and what should you do for that?
- I should do the same I did in teams you’ve mentioned. I’ll work hard a lot to earn the starting spot. I’ll do my best at every training session and in every game.
- Have you already seen the city? What are your impressions of our country?
- The first time I came to Ukraine I was 16. We took part in Bannikov tournament. Thus I’m a bit acquainted with your country and city. I like what I’ve seen. Anyway, yesterday we landed late at night, so this time I haven’t seen a lot yet. I’ve come to Kyiv to play football and I think I’ll be comfortable here.
- Did you pick #94 because you wanted it?
- Yes, I wanted this squad number as I was born in 1994. InLech I had #4, so I think it’s a good combination and ideal number for me.
