- You were born in Polish town Sulechow. What was your childhood like?
- Like all kids I played football outside, when I had free time. I started training quite regularly when I was six. I attended football school at my hometown until I reached 15. Then I was invited to Lech Poznan.
- Who are your parents? How do they make their living?
- When I was a kid, my father still played football. Now he’s a youth coach in Zielona Gora. My mother works at school cafeteria.
- Do you have siblings? What are they?
- I have a sister, who’s two years older than me. She studied in Zielona Gora. Now she’s working.
- When did you start playing football? Do you remember your first steps?
- As far as my father was player and then coach, I always had a football with me. My mom often took me to the park, where I played ball.
- How come you joined Lechia Zielona Gora? Is that far from your hometown?
- It’s not. Zielona Gora is 10 km far from my hometown. I came to Lechia when I was 10. I’m very thankful to coaches and the team in general.
- You joined Lech Poznan in 2010. Was it difficult to become the first team regular?
- At first I performed for reserve team, but first team coaches followed us.
- Being a defender you scored 10 goals for Lech. You’ve also got 12 assists to your name. Which goal is the most memorable one?
- I scored my first goal when I played for U-16 team. As far as I’m a defender, scoring isn’t my duty, but I can when I have an opportunity. Still it’s not my aim. First of all I must defend and pass to teammates.
- You’ve spent six years with Lech first team. What was special about this period?
- It was a great experience. I won the Polish league with Lech, succeeded in Polish Super Cup twice, became the domestic league runner-up twice and performed in the national cup final three times. We had almost family atmosphere in the team. Poznan became my second home. I made over 150 appearances for Lech in all competitions. I hope that experience will help me in Dynamo.
- Which season was the best one for you in Poland?
- It was 2014/2015 season, when we won the league.
- What are your first impressions of Dynamo, training complex of the club? What do you think of new coaching staff and teammates?
- It’s great there’re a lot of fields with natural turf at the training complex. As for my new teammates and coaches, I hope our relationship will be warm. I’ll do my best to help the team.
- What are your strengths?
- I don’t like to tell about myself. I’ll demonstrate what I’m capable of on the field.
- Do you often get yellow and red cards?
- I don’t think I’m a rough player. I’ve been sent off only once or twice. As for yellow cards, I get quite a lot, but that’s natural for defender.
- Do you already feel the importance of FC Dynamo Kyiv games against FC Shakhtar Donetsk?
- I do. They resemble battles between Lech Poznan and Legia Warsaw.
- You were called up to Poland national team in 2015. What are your impressions of that training camp?
- I hope I’ll have a chance to perform for Poland in future though I realize that Lukasz Piszczek performs in my position, so competition is very fierce.
- This is the first time you’ve left your native country. Will you miss your family and friends?
- That’s really the first time I’ve joined a foreign team. I hope I’ll deal with it and feel like at home in Kyiv.
- Usually Polish players aim to perform in England or Germany. Why did you choose Ukraine?
- I think it’s a big step in my career. I’ll do my best to become the first team regular.
- Can you compare Polish and Ukrainian football?
- I know that Dynamo and Shakhtar perform in the Champions League regularly while Polish teams only start this way. Polish football is developing rapidly. As for our leagues, I should play more games in Ukraine to be objective.
