Ukraine with three Dynamo players lose first Euro-2016 game against Germany

Eight players from the Yellow-Blues starting lineup took part in the European championship four years ago. Two of them represent FC Dynamo Kyiv – Yevhen Khacheridi and Andriy Yarmolenko. Another Kyivan Serhiy Sydorchuk also was among first eleven.

German coach Joachim Löw counted on experienced players too. 10 of them helped the team win 2014 World Cup.

19 minutes into the game Shkodran Mustafi headed the ball in after pass from Toni Kroos.

In the first half Ukraine looked pretty well and even created more chances than Germany. Konoplyanka didn’t use two great passes by Yarmolenko. Manuel Neuer saved his team after header from Khacheridi.

After the break Germany didn’t let Ukraine change the situation for better. Unfortunately players that could enforce our team – Oleh Husiev and Artem Kravets – watched the match on TV.

Germans controlled the game, but our defense acted confidently, especially Khacheridi.

Still in a stoppage time Bastian Schweinsteiger made the score 2:0 after low cross from Mesut Özil.

On June 16 Ukraine will oppose Northern Ireland in Lyon.
