Dynamo footballers, who took part in the Cyprus International Tournament, returned to Marbella on Wednesday morning to resume preparations for the UEFA Cup campaign. The same day midfielder Oleksandr Aliyev shared his impressions of Ukraine’s win at Slovakia:
- The most important thing was to reach the final and we did it. Undoubtedly, Slovakia had the same aim as our side. That is why the match proved to be rather tough. We tried to control the game from the very first minutes but our opponents were not planning to give up. They managed to come from behind twice. Luckily, the lack of power and playing time prevented them from equalising the score.
- You are probably a bit upset that you won't take part in the final match...
- We knew beforehand that we would participate only in one match. Anyway we are grateful to the club authorities who allowed us to take part in that encounter. We would definitely like to play in the final with Serbia, but club’s interests come first in this case.
- Tomorrow Dynamo will play a friendly against Danish side Esbjerg fB. Will you take part in the match?
- I don’t know yet. We are always ready to help our team, but it all depends on the head coach.
