Ukrainian-Russian friendly

The previous friendly match played in the heat of the season was two years ago. Just like this time Dynamo hosted Russian guests (Dinamo Moscow) and the game ended 1:1.

The chilly weather was no deterrent for football fans and the stadium saw about a thousand spectators. Some of them were lucky to get autographs from midfielder Oleh Husev, which played for the Ukraine international against Scotland the day before, and Dynamo former head coach Anatoliy Demyanenko.

The present head coach József Szabó decided to step aside from the usual 3-5-2 formation. Instead, the team played with four defenders, with Aliyev, Michael and Ninković providing good help to the attacking Kléber. Michael, who has not yet gained his previous conditions after the injury, showed good individual performance in the penalty box and scored a goal to give his team a win over Saturn.

Dynamo players bossed possession for most of the time. The opponent dominated only in the middle of the first half, generating much an attack and sometimes leaving little chances to Lutsenko. The Ukrainian goalkeeper, however, despite the lack of regular football in the first line-up, could easily “read” the game, prompted his teammates and, more importantly, made saves.

Kyiv players undertook right-flank and center activity. Active Ninković claimed an assist to Michael, whereas Kléber was constantly presenting the Ramensk defense with problems.

Dynamo pulled off the minimum victory in a friendly and now it is time the team began to train for the Ukrainian League game against Zakarpattya, with  the Champions League match next and high on a list. For that’s where József Szabó is to face this fall’s most serious contender Manchester United.
