Dynamo's UEFA Cup opponents Valencia CF have started the new 2009 year with a comfortable 3-1 home victory over the UEFA Champions League challengers Club Atlético de Madrid on Saturday.
Unai Emery's side started the game strongly and took a deserved lead from the spot in the 34th minute when David Villa stroked the ball into the goal. Fellow Spanish international David Silva doubled the lead five minutes later and then wrapped up the points on 69 minute with an excellent left-footed shot from distance. Diego Forlán scored a penalty for Atlético in first half added time.
