His colleague Vitaliy Kosovskyi has told what Belkevych was like at work and in everyday life:
- Of course I have a lot to tell about Valentyn, but frankly speaking it’s hard to find proper words right now. I was told this news in the morning and I just can’t come round.
A lot happened as we played and coached together.
We worked shoulder to shoulder for the last two years. He became the best coach of Ukraine four times which means a lot. As a player he was a true team captain. In everyday live Valentyn was very honest, decent and fair. He always had his point of view about everything.
