Under his guidance Bezsonov won a lot of trophies with Dynamo and USSR national team and became one of the best defenders of the country in 1980s. Volodymyr always comes to his teacher on Lobanovskyi’s birthday.
- Lobanovskyi was like a father to us. Talking to each other players called him “dad”. He was a great professional, who knew how to achieve success in football. I’m happy that I used to work with such outstanding coach. I’ll always remember him.
- Do you remember how you first met Lobanovskyi?
- I dreamed of playing for Dynamo since childhood and came to Kyiv when a kid. I featured for 1975, 1980s and 1990s legendary teams. I’m thankful to Valeriy Lobanovskyi for that.
