- When Viacheslav Soloviov came to Kyiv we had really good lineup. Still it was his predecessor Oleh Oshenkov, who started gathering youngsters in Dynamo. Talented guys were found all over Ukraine. Some players came from Zaporizhia, me, Turianchyk and Havashi – from Uzhhorod. In 1960 we finished second and in 1961 we left FC Torpedo Moscow behind and won the league.
- What was the key to success?
- We had great lineup – about 14 performers of the same level. We didn’t have significant failures that season, but still we were incredibly happy when we won the title!
We didn’t play for money. We fought for our city and Ukraine.
