The first goal was scored by Echiejile. The dominance continued as Mali’s backline were again cut to shreds. Moses was the architect; his cross field run created indecision among the defence, before his delightful pass set Emmanuel Emenike free – the striker opted to play in his partner Ideye Brown, who made no mistake from close range in his 10-th apperance for Nigeria!
Emenike added third before half time. Ahmed Mussa made it 4-0 with the Mali’s consolation goal scored by Diarra 15 minutes from time.
