Facing the press this afternoon, Dynamo Kyiv coach Yuriy Semin answered journalists’ questions regarding tomorrow’s UEFA Cup quarter-final match against French side Paris Saint-Germain FC:
- After the match against PSG in Paris, we gained a 3-1 league win at FC Chornomorets Odesa, and it helped us to strengthen our top position in the table. Our schedule has been too hectic. That is why I decided to rest some of our key players for match on Thursday. Fortunately, everyone who played in Paris feels fine, so now we just have to choose the line-up and produce a good performance.
I don't think that we were playing too defensively in France. I agree that our attacking play was not good enough, but I'm fully satisfied with our defensive work. However, we expect a very difficult match in Kyiv and we need to improve in attack. Our opponents have reached the last eight with a 3-1 away win over Bundesliga leaders VfL Wolfsburg, followed by 1-0 victory against Portuguese side Braga. So, we must take this match very seriously. Judging by Dynamo’s recent performances in the UEFA Champions League I can say that we are capable of achieving great heights.
- Artem Kravets still follows an individual training programme. Does that mean he is unlikely to play tomorrow?
- Yes, he will miss tomorrow’s game with PSG.
