- Denys, what do you usually do on weekends?
- I usually stay at home.
- Do you like to sleep late mornings?
- It depends. I’m neither early nor late riser. After matches I can’t fall asleep until about 4 a.m. Anyway usually I wake up at 10 o’clock.
- What do you like to have for breakfast?
- I don’t like to eat in the morning, but if I have to, I eat eggs and yoghurt.
- Changes in your behavior on the pitch are noticeable. You used to commit about seven fouls in one game and now – in three-four matches…
- Yes, but I got two bookings in two previous games…
- Did you deserve that?
- I didn’t deserve the yellow card I got in Dnipropetrovsk. I closed my eyes and the ball hit my shoulder… Actually I reconsidered a lot of things while I was recovering from injury.
- Do you often meet Yuriy Vaks after he sent you off in the match against FC Shakhtar Donetsk?
- He was the referee of our matches three times after that.
- You said you wouldn’t shake his hand…
- I did, but it’s an obligatory procedure before every game. I had no choice.
- What do Dynamo lack today?
- I guess we should work on defense. As for the rest, I think we have no great problems.
- Is it easy for you to work under Oleh Blokhin?
- It’s okay. I have no claims to him.
- What’s your favourite position on the pitch?
- Position doesn’t matter to me. I know that I must always help defenders.
- Are Dynamo players close knit?
- I think we have good friendly atmosphere in the team.
- Denys, you scored your first goal of the season against FC Metalist Kharkiv. You must be unsatisfied with your goal average…
- That’s true. I have chances in every match, but score not more than two goals a season. I’ll work on that.
- Many Dynamo performers state that it’s easier for them to play for Ukraine national team…
- I agree with this statement. Maybe that’s because Ukraine internationals have been acquainted for ages.
- Did you have a chance to recondition by the World Cup qualifiers against France?
- I guess I didn’t. Everything was fine, but there still was a psychological barrier.
- Which team will you be supporting at the World Cup?
- I guess England.
