- What was the major problem: exhaustion after the game against Brugge or Desna strength?
- I’m really satisfied with our performance. We dominated throughout the game and I didn’t notice players being exhausted. We opposed very athletic team. They used a lot of long balls and one mistake resulted in goal we conceded. We created good chances and I think we deserved to win.
Desna committed a lot of tactical fouls that interrupted our attacks. I don’t know why they’ve god so few bookings.
Besides the turf was of poor quality. Desna were killing the clock and referee allowed that. I think he should have added at least ten minutes in the second half.
- Why was Denys Popov absent?
- We needed him, especially considering that Denys is good at head-playing, so he could oppose Budkivskyi. Unfortunately he had sore muscles after the game against Brugge.
We needed to replace 4-5 players after that match, but injuries of Popov, Andriyevskyi and Verbic didn’t let us do that. Anyway we had 7-8 decent scoring chances.
I don’t understand certain episodes. For example, why was Tsyhankov booked? I’m not saying that every fall inside the box is a penalty, but a player can fall down fighting for the ball. Tsyhankov didn’t ask for a penalty. Why was he booked?
Why did Mykolenko get the yellow card? Because he was nervous as Desna were interrupting the game all the time? He just threw the ball on the ground.
Why do we get so many bookings? We don’t play roughly. We don’t kill the clock and don’t commit rough tackles.
I think we’re being punished too harshly. That’s my opinion. Maybe the rules have changed and I just don’t know.
