The White-Blues came to Lviv from Belgium, where they outplayed Club Brugge KV in the Europa League round of 32 on Thursday. Although that match was quite tough and exhausting, Mircea Lucescu didn’t apply significant lineup rotation in the UPL game. Only Karavayev and Shaparenko replaced Mykolenko and Shepelev.
Dynamo first attack was a success. Goalkeeper didn’t cope with the shot by Viktor Tsyhankov properly while Artem Besedin was there to send the ball into the net.
Kyiv side totally took the game under control in terms of possession and dangerous attacks although didn’t create a lot of actual chances.
Still in the 33rd minute another FC Lviv mistake resulted in goal: Mihoubi fouled against Buialskyi inside the box, referee awarded penalty and Tsyhankov made it 2:0 from the spot.
Late in the first half there was danger in Dynamo box as Lviv demanded a penalty for Rodrigues’ presumable hand ball. Upon checking VAR, referee decided there was no foul in that episode.
In the 52nd minute visitors made it 3:0. Zabarnyi attempted with a header after corner, goalkeeper parried his shot, but Kedziora hit the open goal.
After that Mircea Lucescu made several substitutions. Meanwhile Bushchan coped with a decent strike by Brikner.
Lviv were rewarded for their persistence halfway through the second half. Cirjak passed to Nych, who hit the target – 1:3.
Anyway, a minute before the time Dynamo scored the fourth one. De Pena put a cross from the left side, Romanchuk headed the ball towards his own goal, goalkeeper parried it, but Liedniev made it 1:4!
