Mircea Lucescu made six substitutions in the White-Blues starting lineup comparing with the game against AZ Alkmaar. Syrota, Shepelev, Andriyevskyi, Tsytaishvili, Verbic and Liedniev replaced Karavayev, Sydorchuk, Shaparenko, Rodrigues, de Pena and Buialskyi. The team captain was 21-year-old Vitaliy Mykolenko.
In the first half both sides mostly played carefully. Dynamo created the first chance in the 9th minute when Syrota missed with a header after cross from the corner flag. Supriaha had a good opportunity after long ball from Bushchan, but Kravchuk blocked Vladyslav’s strike.
After the first half Dynamo coach made four substitutions at once. Sydorchuk, Shaparenko, Tsyhankov and Buialskyi replaced Andriyevskyi, Shepelev, Tsytaishvili and Liedniev. This move turned out to be beneficial. 48 minutes into the game Klymenchuk fouled against Supriaha inside Lviv box and referee awarded penalty for Dynamo. Tsyhankov converted from the spot.
After that Kyivans gave the upper hand to Lviv side trying to use counterattacks. Mykolenko missed from inside the box while visitors’ keeper Lytovchenko parried the header by Supriaha.
And then, in the 62nd minute, Lviv equalized. Visitors put a free tick from the left side, Bushchan saved the team after header, but Celic was there to send the ball into the net.
Mircea Lucescu reacted with another substitution – forward Artem Kravets replaced Benjamin Verbic. The atmosphere at the stadium got so intense that referee booked Lviv head coach Giorgi Tsetsadze and Dynamo assistant coach Diego Longo. Later Lviv defender Maroine Mihoubi got the second yellow card and was sent off.
The decisive episode happened when referee awarded free kick for Dynamo. Shaparenko took it and sent the ball into the upper V. In a stoppage time Supriaha made it 3:1 after assist by Shaparenko.
