Mircea Lucescu’s men returned from Spain only on Friday afternoon, so they had less than 48 hours to get ready for the match against Rukh. Thus the White-Blues coach applied lineup rotation. Popov, Shaparenko and Supriaha replaced Syrota, Andriyevskyi and Tsyhankov on the list of first eleven.
Dynamo had a great chance to open the score early in the game. Mykolenko attempted from distance, the ball hit Karasiuk’s hand and referee awarded penalty. De Pena took the shot, but Bandura parried it.
Anyway, home side kept attacking after this failure. Bandura parried a decent strike from distance by Shaparenko. Supriaha sent the ball way over the bar from a promising position.
The draw definitely was unsatisfactory for Kyivans, so after the break they rushed forward again. In the 59th minute Mykolenko put a cross into the box from the left side, Rukh defender didn’t manage to clear the ball properly and Karavayev scored his first goal for Dynamo – 1:0.
Inspired by this success, Olexandr kept creating chances. Lviv side defender almost sent the ball into his own net after cross by Karavayev.
Dynamo totally controlled the situation on the field and didn’t let visitors create anything. Late in the game they scored two more. At first Mykolenko rushed through the left wing and put a cross to Sidcley, who made it 2:0.
In the 90th minute Popov joined the attack, reached the goal and attempted from inside the penalty area, but goalkeeper parried his shot. Anyway, Karavayev was there to hit the target.
Dynamo win 3:0. Considering that Shakhtar have lost against Lviv (2:3), the White-Blues are seven points ahead of Donetsk side in the league table.
