This game was to take place in Crimea, but Simferopol side asked Premier League to hold the match in Kyiv as it’s hardly possible to provide security at their stadium.
It is to be recalled that on March 16 referendum will take place in Crimea to decide whether the peninsula will stay the part of Ukraine or join Russia. Tavria managing director Olexandr Boitsan has told about possible impact of this event on the future of the team:
- We can’t prohibit those players who have Crime registration to take part in the referendum. I guess our future will become clear on Match 17, - informed Boitsan www.segodnya.ua
