After the Ukrainian Premier League defeat against Shakhtar (0:1), Mircea Lucescu submitted his resignation from the post of Dynamo head coach.
The following day, players and staff gathered at the training ground in Vita-Lytovska, where the president of the club Ihor Surkis thanked Mister, who came to say goodbye. Besides, the president presented the caretaker manager – the White-Blues’ legend Olexandr Shovkovskyi.
“Head coach and his staff are responsible for the result. You are responsible for your performance”, - addressed Shovkovskyi to players. “There’s a certain level you have no right to fall below. Mister Lucescu gave you his strength, knowledge and experience. He’s achieved a lot in his live and career. So I want all of you to thank him”.
After that everyone bid farewell to Mircea Lucescu with a round of applause.
The president of the club Ihor Surkis also had a chat with the team and coaching staff. He thanked Mister and emphasized that the goal of the team is still to win the league.
“I’m very thankful to Mircea Lucescu for everything he did for Dynamo. It’s not just about qualifying for the Champions League twice or about winning trophies. It’s about his professionalism, experience and improvements to the club system. Lucescu raised a number of talented players. We were ready to wait until Mircea builds a new team capable of winning the league and performing in euro cups. But leaving was his personal decision and we have to deal with it. I hope the experience he’s shared with players and coaching staff will help you”, - said Ihor Surkis.
Emil Caras, Oleh Husiev and Mykhailo Mykhailov will be working in the coaching staff of Olexandr Shovkovskyi.
