The White-Blues approached this game in fine fettle after successful duel against Olympiacos FC within the Europa League round of 32. Besides, after two official fixtures they felt game rhythm unlike Zoria, who’ve just returned from the training camp.
It’s a known fact that Yuriy Vernydub’s men are tough opponent for Dynamo. For example, this season our team drew against Zoria in Zaporizhia (1:1).
Comparing with the previous match against Olympiacos Dynamo head coach made only one substitution in the starting lineup. Sydorchuk replaced Shepelev, who was suspended.
As it usually happens at home, Kyivans took the game under control at once, but couldn’t create a chance for a while. Meanwhile Zoria had opportunities to punish Dynamo for mistakes in defensive half, but fortunately didn’t use them.
The first half an hour wasn’t a success for both sides, but then Olexandr Khatskevych’s men demonstrated fabulous football. At first Tsyhankov eluded opponents and put a low cross into the box, where Shaparenko hit the open goal. Then Verbic rushed past three defenders and hit the far corner! And right before the break Shaparenko made the score 3:0 after great cross from Verbic.
The torture continued for Zoria after the break. 53 minutes into the match Verbic obtained the ball inside their penalty area and got a brace of goals to his name too.
Still Dynamo didn’t plan to stop and 73 minutes into the game scored another one. Fran Sol headed the ball in after cross from Kedziora. Spanish striker scores in the second game in a row.
So, it’s 5:0 for Dynamo against worthy team in the first UPL game after the winter break.
