Although the game took place at the White-Blues arena, Shakhtar were the home side. They’ll play their home games at the Olimpiyskyi till the end of the season.
Dynamo starting lineup wasn’t surprising. Bushchan, who turned 26 that day, was the goalkeeper. Kedziora, Popov, Shabanov and Mykolenko formed the defense. Sydorchuk and Shepelev were supposed to stop opponents in the midfield while Tsytaishvili and Verbic were wingers. Buialskyi performed the role of attacking midfielder while Rusyn was the striker.
Early in the game Rusyn tested Piatov from distance, but Shakhtar keeper coped with the challenge. Later Dynamo attempted three times in one attack, but each time opponents blocked those shots.
19 minutes into the match the White-Blues scored. Shakhtar didn’t clear the ball properly after Dynamo corner, Kedziora found Sydorchuk and Serhiy sent the ball into the net. Still after referee checked VAR the goal was canceled as Popov fouled against Stepanenko.
Anyway that didn’t stop Dynamo and in the 38th minute Olexiy Mykhailychenko’s men scored again. Tsytaishvili found Buialskyi with a fabulous cross and Vitaliy headed the ball in.
Still in the following attack Shakhtar equalized. Marlos, being in front of the box, hit the far bottom corner with a well-placed strike.
After the break teams kept acting toe-to-toe. Dynamo could arrange a dangerous attack, but Rusyn performed a poor pass to Buialskyi.
Meanwhile no one prevented Dodo from assisting Marlos, who made the score 2:1 from inside the penalty area.
Seven minutes later Shakhtar increased the lead. After fast counterattack Ismaily passed into the six-yard-box, where neither Shabanov nor Kedziora managed to clear the ball and Marcos Antonio made it 3:1.
So, Dynamo lose the first match after quarantine. The White-Blues are already 16 points behind Shakhtar.
