Yesterday’s match between Dynamo Kyiv and CFR Cluj was expected to be a real test for the Ukrainian team, as their rivals were reigning Romanian champions and Cup holders.
The game started very actively. Dynamo began to lead after 3 minutes of the game. Aleksandr Aliyev scored at about 25 meter distance. But Romanians’ response came very soon. In the 8th minute Cluj’s captain Cadú shot the ball into the net from the penalty spot after Diakhaté’s foul against Romanian forward.
The White-Blues dominated on the pitch, but their attempts to score were unsuccessful. The first half ended in a 1-1 draw.
In the second-half Sablic and Kravets replaced Diakhaté and Bangoura. The Cluj’s head coach changed the line-up in his turn. Thus the game began well for CFR, as Fabiani pushed the ball into the Dynamo net in the 53rd minute. Dynamo got the chance to level the score after Romanian defender’s mistake in the 69th minute, but Aliyev lost an opportunity, as the penalty-kick was saved by Cluj’s goalkeeper.
Dynamo continued to hold possession, but the opponents' dangerous counter attack was finished with a goal again. The score was 1-3, when Kravets managed to net the goal in the last minutes of the game.
2:3 – first Dynamo’s loss in Austria. Nevertheless, Dynamo coaches are going to analyze mistakes, made in the match, and continue the training session for the next season.
