- Jeremain, what were the main peculiarities of Dynamo training camp?
- I have good impressions of the training camp. We had all necessary conditions for work.
It’s rather unusual for me that winter break in Ukrainian Premier League lasts a month. At the second training camp we were preparing for Europa League matches against Valencia CF.
- Dynamo played many friendlies during the winter break. Did they help you to get ready for official matches?
- I think such games are necessary for reconditioning. Still friendlies and official matches are incomparable.
Sparrings give a possibility to work on different tactical schemes. For example we played against Malaga the way we are going to feature against Valencia. We must be ready for important game.
- How difficult was training load for you?
- At first it was difficult, but all players have already reconditioned.
- You worked individually for several days. What was the reason for that and how do you feel now?
- I suffered a small injury three months ago and it caused some problems at the training camp. Thus I had to work individually for several days, but after that I joined the rest of the team.
- What can you tell about Valencia play? What are their strengths and weaknesses?
- I faced Valencia featuring for PSV. The Bats play very orderly, besides they have many high profile performers. We mustn’t let them demonstrate what they can. We’ll have a good chance to win if play act actively and even aggressively.
- What can Dynamo achieve in Europa League this season?
- I think we shouldn’t take the ball before the bound. First of all it’s necessary to focus on forthcoming fixture against Valencia.
We have a very good team, so we can achieve a lot.
- What do you think of the Ukrainian Premier League?
- UPL is of higher level than they think in Western Europe. I decided to join Dynamo as I followed it carefully. I also faced FC Dnipro Dnipropetrovsk and FC Metalist Kharkiv in the Europa League and remembered Kyivans’ win against AZ Alkmaar. That’s why I decided to resume my career in Ukraine.
- Are you ready to spend many seasons in Ukraine?
- One can never be sure about that kind of things. I have a four-year contract and I’m ready to benefit Dynamo throughout this period. I don’t regret joining this club as I feel great here! I think it’s prestigious to perform for the White-Blues.
- Do you keep studying Russian?
- I improve my Russian day by day and I already understand a lot.
- Do you understand the head coach well?
- I appreciate Oleh Blokhin trying to explain me something in English. I try to speak Russian in my return. It’s rather difficult to study a foreign language.
- How can you estimate atmosphere in Dynamo? Do you communicate with all teammates?
- I feel that atmosphere is getting better. I already understand Russian a bit, so I can respond. Sometimes my interlocutors speak English.
- Who are your best friends in the team?
- I communicate with Lukman Haruna a lot. I think we have friendly relations.
- What are your aims for the second part of the season and 2014 in general?
- My main aim is to win the UPL with Dynamo Kyiv. I also want to perform successfully in the Europa League and at the World Cup.
- How important is the World Cup for Netherlands and for you personally?
- Four years ago we lost the final. This time we have a possibility to show better result. It won’t be easy, but sometimes dreams come true.
- You missed Euro-2012. Still you must have some impressions of the contest…
- Euro-2012 wasn’t a success for Netherlands. Every team has ups and downs.
- What can you say about the White-Blues supporters?
- I want to thank them as their support is very important for us.
