UPL. Matchday 27. Dynamo – Kolos – 2:1. Report

Unfortunately the White-Blues can’t count on the title this season anymore as FC Shakhtar Donetsk have already won it. Still this fact didn’t have any impact upon goals Dynamo and Kolos had. Kyivans are still fighting for the second place and Champions League spot.

The weather was almost ideal the whole day in Kyiv, but half an hour before the game things changed and it started raining cats and dogs.

Of course such weather conditions influenced the game. At first Dynamo took the situation under control and hardly let Kolos cross the midfield, but gradually fast attacks vanished and turned into scrimmage.

The first opportunity happened 5 minutes into the match, when Verbic missed the target. Kolos responded with a header by Petrov. Kedziora was there to save the team.

Early in the second half Mykolenko had a great chance. After pass from Buialskyi, he rushed into the penalty area and tried to hit the far corner. Goalkeeper Volynets parried his attempt. And then there was a penalty for Kolos. Popov handled the ball inside the box. Still Bushchan cleared Bohdanov’s shot from the spot. The White-Blues responded with the strike by Buialskyi, who hit the post.

Dynamo following attack resulted in penalty too. This time Petrov fouled against Verbic. Kolos defender got the second booking for that and was sent off while Tsyhankov made it 1:0.

But this wasn’t the last penalty of the night. Ilyin fell on the ground when struggling against Mykolenko and de Pena and referee awarded another one. This time Vilhjalmsson took the shot and succeeded – 1:1.

It seemed that the penalties parade would be endless. In the 76th minute Boiko awarded the fourth one – for Dynamo this time. Still after checking VAR for about five minutes he cancelled his decision. After that Kolos had a great opportunity, but Bushchan didn’t let Antiukh score in one-on-one situation.

Later referee awarded another penalty for Dynamo – for the foul against de Pena. Carlos made it 2:1 himself.

Referee added 9 minutes for stoppages and Kyivans had a couple more decent opportunities. Anyway, it’s 2:1 – Olexiy Mykhailychenko’s men win this tough game.
