This was the first match for the White-Blues after the long break caused by COVID-19 pandemic. According to safety restrictions, the game was played behind closed doors.
It’s still uncertain what the Ukrainian football will look like after the quarantine. Only time can show what players and clubs have gone through. So far football resembles the period of pre-season work when teams just start having friendlies.
In the first half both sides were very careful. The best chance was probably the one when Shabanov attempted after cross from the corner flag, but Mysak handled the ball. Rukh responded with the shot by Kondrakov. Bushchan was there for his team.
Gradually teams started creating opportunities. At first Boichuk failed to put Rukh in front as he missed in one-on-one situation. Meanwhile Nazariy Rusyn didn’t manage to use the mistake of Rukh defenders.
31 minutes into the game Rusyn had another chance, but failed to slot past the keeper. And then, 5 minutes before the break, Nazariy missed another opportunity. He didn’t hit the target from the six-yard box line.
In the second half both coaches applied lineup rotation. Kyivans kept attacking. Sydorchuk attempted from distance, but the most dangerous were strikes by de Pena. Carlos tried to score right from the corner flag, but Mysak saved Lviv side. And then de Pena hit the upper 90.
Basically there were no decent chances after that, so the first game after quarantine ended in a goalless draw.
