Serhiy SYDORCHUK: “I’m with Dynamo Kyiv as I want to play and win trophies”

- Dynamo have started the new season with a win against Dinamo Tbilisi. You played as center back. What are your impressions of that game?

- It’s good that we won. We lacked defenders, so I played as center back with Danilo Silva. It was really something new for me.

- Is it difficult for a supporting halfback to play as defender?

- It’s not that difficult, but it’s unusual to feel that there’s no one behind you but for goalkeeper. I think that we have coped with the task in general as our team didn’t concede a single goal, though Tbilisi side had several opportunities.

- Georgians looked more athletic than you…

- It was really so, but we started the game well. In the second half it was difficult to play as it was the fourth day of the training camp.

- The first part of the training camp is over. What can you tell about it?

- We were running really a lot. It was also difficult as we exercised in the gym.

- Have you got over the hump already?

- I think so. It’s getting a bit easier. At the moment those players who joined us later experience difficulties just like we did.

- On June 21 you had a small 7x7 competition. Could you tell about it?

- The competition was very interesting. We played on a small pitch. My team won the second place.

- You have already spent 6 months with Dynamo. Are you satisfied with everything?

- The adaptation period is over. As for the game practice…it’s all up to the head coach. If I keep working hard, I’ll be given more chances to play.

- In the end of the season you played rather a lot…

- Denys Harmash and Roman Bezus were injured, that’s why I played a lot. One must be always ready to substitute his teammate.

- Oleh Blokhin has mentioned that after the training camp he’ll form a list of 25 players who’ll get a chance to play in euro cups. Do you feel you can be among those 25?

- I wouldn’t have transferred to Dynamo if had no self-confidence. I came here to play and win trophies. I’ll do whatever it takes to achieve my aims.

- Dynamo head coach is creating a young team. How big the potential of this team is?

- Let’s have a look at Ukraine national team. Yarmolenko and Harmash are one of its leaders as Valeriy Gazzaev believed in them at the proper time. Every young player should be given a chance to show what he can. I think Dynamo have a great potential.

- Dynamo are to play 5 more friendlies during this summer break. What do you expect of these games?

- I’d like to take the field against Russian teams within the Joint tournament. I’m looking forward for wins.
