- I don’t think it was easy to score the first goal. I eluded opponent as forward must do and hit the corner. It’s always difficult to oppose Shakhtar. The goal gave us confidence, but Donetsk side also rushed forward. It’s great our defense acted properly when they took set pieces. Goalkeeper was also doing well.
Kostiantyn VIVCHARENKO:
- Everyone’s really happy, especially me as I’m the team captain. We’ve demonstrated really worthy play. It’s a kind of revenge for defeat we suffered last year in a penalty shootout.
Olexiy SLUTSKYI:
- It’s vital for goalkeeper to have cool head and passionate heart. Concentration is also very important.
After the first half coaches warned us that Shakhtar would rush forward as they were one goal behind, but we were ready for that.
It’s great to be picked as best goalkeeper considering that there were many good keepers at the competition – from Dnipro, Shakhtar and Karpaty.
