Many years this team spent in lower Swiss leagues. But last year FC Luzern became the runner-up of Switzerland. The biggest triumph of FC Luzern happened in 1989 when the club won the national championship. FC Luzern also won two national Cups in 1960 and 1992.

Ryszard Komornicki is a former defender of Poland national team (20 matches). He finished his career of footballer in 2001 in another club from Luzern called Kickers. After that he became the manager of the team but the same year he made a contract with FC Luzern. Still he spent there very little time and later worked in 7 different teams. But this season he came back to FC Luzern.

At the moment FC Luzern is only on the 7th position in the Swiss Super League.
The most famous footballer of FC Luzern is the 31-year old former right winger of Switzerland national team (35 matches, 5 goals) Daniel Gygax (right in the photo).

FC Luzern played against FC Dynamo Kyiv only once. On January 16, 1987 the Swiss won 5:3 on the futsal pitch.
