Bohdan Redushko: «We had to play with discipline, focusing on team play»

Dynamo Kyiv midfielder Bohdan Redushko shared his impressions after the first friendly match of the training camp in Turkey against Poland’s Korona which ended in a 0:0 draw.

- Of course, playing matches is more enjoyable than just running. We played this game under heavy training loads so it was a good chance to feel how we think on the pitch, see how we adapt, and assess our physical condition.

- At what stage of readiness do you think the team is right now?

- This is just the beginning of the training camp, the fifth day, so we’re naturally at an early stage. There are still several friendly matches ahead so we keep preparing. With every game and every training session we’ll improve our shape.

- Please comment on the bright moment after a great attack when you had a chance to score by chipping the goalkeeper.

- I took the shot but it didn’t work out - the goalkeeper made the save. I really wanted to score. As for the game overall we had a tactical plan according to which everyone had to move forward together and everyone had to track back. We also had to play with discipline, but with more emphasis not on the result, rather on team play.

- This is your first training camp with the senior team. How do you feel? What is new for you? Was there any nervousness before going to Turkey?

- The loads here are heavier, there’s more running and the intensity of the exercises is higher. The first few days were quite tough but over time I think I’ll get used to it and everything will be fine.

- Which aspects have you managed to improve over these few days?

- Too little time has passed so far - it’s still too early to say.
