The U12 team of FC Dynamo Kyiv’s academy named after Valeriy Lobanovskyi took part in the prestigious international Newcastle Lake Cup held in Italy.
On the first day of the competition young Dynamo players immediately showed their high level, winning all three of their matches.
The Kyiv side continued their dominant run, defeating their peers from Atalanta BC (2:0), ASD Montecosaro (14:0), Diavoletti Calcio (6:0) and Brommapojkarna (1:0).
In semifinal Dynamo faced representatives of one of Italy’s top football academies, Juventus FC. “White-Blues” fought bravely but lost 0:3.
Dynamo’s final match at the Newcastle Lake Cup was the third-place playoff. After a narrow 0:1 defeat to Bologna FC 1909 the team coached by Roman Peretyatko and Yevhen Yastrebynskyi finished in fourth place at the tournament.
