- Yevhen, how can you estimate the last season personally for you?
- Football is a team sport, so I think that this season was a failure. As Ukraine defeated Montenegro psychological pressure decreased a bit.
- What were the reasons for such unlucky season?
- There are a lot of reasons. First of all we lost too many points in the first half of the season. Besides FC Metalist were in great conditions.
- Many specialists state that Dynamo foreign players are of lower lever that those who play for Shakhtar Donetsk and Metalist Kharkiv. Do you agree with that?
- Specialists may be right to some extent. I agree that Shakhtar and Metalist have foreign players who are the key performers in these teams.
- Are there any problems with the atmosphere within the team connected with foreign players?
- There are no problems of such kind. Personally I have good relations with all teammates. I think I’m lucky as we have friendly atmosphere both in Dynamo and Ukraine national team.
- Was it difficult to watch the game against Montenegro from the substitutes’ bench?
- It was really difficult. The game was very tough, but the final score is quite logical.
- Were you sure that Ukraine would manage to win?
- Sure! Of course no one could suppose that the score would be 4:0, but we had no doubt that we would win.
- How did our national team manage to change so rapidly in 2013?
- We always had a good team. Maybe we didn’t do our best as we faced Moldova away and Montenegro in Kyiv, but we all have a great desire to qualify to the World Cup. That’s why we didn’t lose the heart after two failures. Everything depends upon our own play.
- Have you recovered from your injury?
- I feel fine, than you. I picked up an injury as we faced Cameroon in Kyiv. I hoped that I would manage to recover quickly, but later I decided to tell Mykhailo Fomenko that I was not ready to play.
- Do you behave during training sessions just like during important games?
- Of course I don’t. Sometimes it’s difficult for me to control my emotions as I hate losing.
- How much money have you paid for your tricks?
- I’m not sure, but the sum is rather big.
- What are you still to work at?
- There’s always something to work at. I think I should start my team’s attacks quicker. My headers could be more effective due to my height.
- Who was the striker it was really difficult for you to play against?
- It was Zlatan Ibrahimovic. As for the strikers who play in UPL – these are Luiz Adriano and Roman Zozulia.
- Who was the coach it was very difficult for you to work under?
- I think the present period is the most difficult for me.
- Do you often recall the period of your career you spent in FC Volyn Lutsk?
- Sometimes I recollect those times as I spent one year in Lutsk. I think every period of my career was useful for me.
- What can you tell about rumors as for your conflict with Oleh Blokhin and your desire to leave Dynamo?
- I really have a wish to change the club as I want to try my hand in one of European top leagues. And it’s really rather difficult for me to work under Oleh Blokhin.
- How often do you visit Melitopol?
- On the average – twice a year. I visit my grandmother and father with great pleasure.
- What would you have become but for football?
- I’m not really sure.
- What are your plans for the next season?
- Dynamo are to win the UPL and qualify to the Champions league.
As for the national team – we must qualify to the World Cup.
