Mykola dreamed of being football player since childhood. When a kid he promised his mother he would be famous. In the fifth form he joined football school where his coach was Yaroslav Murovanyi.
In the eighth form he entered Lviv sports school and trained under the charge of Volodymyr Bezubiak.
At one of youth competitions the boy was spotted by FC Dynamo Academy representatives and was offered to move to the capital. As he had a contract with Karpaty Lviv he had to wait. Still when Moroziuk was in the ninth form he left for Kyiv and featured for FC Lokomotyv for half a year.
In 2003, when Mykola was 15, he joined Dynamo football school named after Valeriy Lobanovskyi, where his coaches were Vitaliy Khmelnytskyi and Yuriy Yastrebynskyi.
Before the graduation in 2005 Moroziuk made his debut for Dynamo-3. The following season Mykola performed for Dynamo-2 and U-21, but didn’t have much game practice. Still in 2006/2007 season he made 23 appearances for Dynamo-2.
Decisive shot at the age of 19
On June 17 2007 Moroziuk made his debut for the main squad. It was the final game of 2006/2007 season against FC Arsenal Kyiv.
On July 10 2007 Mykola won his first professional football trophy as FC Dynamo Kyiv faced FC Shakhtar Donetsk in the Ukrainian Super Cup. Fans were impressed with technical skills of young #99.
After the draw there was a penalty shootout and Moroziuk scored the decider!
Looking for game practice
Anyway Moroziuk started the following season in Dynamo-2 and U-21. Later he signed loan agreement with FC Dnipro Dnipropetrovsk, but played only for reserve team. In winter he returned to Kyiv. After Yuri Semin took charge of Dynamo several Brazilians left Kyiv, so Mykola got a chance to get the starting spot.
In April and May, when Oleh Husiev picked up an injury, Moroziuk got some game practice in the main squad, but mostly made substitute appearances. In 2009/2010 season Mykola featured for FC Obolon Kyiv and FC Kryvbas Kryvyi Rih.
In summer of 2010 22-year-old Mykola was signed by FC Metalurh Donetsk. Late in 2014/2015 season he broke the contract. Moroziuk made 135 appearances for Metalurh within five years and netted 11 goals.
Experienced international
On November 17 2010 Mykola made his debut for Ukraine national team in a friendly against Switzerland that ended in a draw – 2:2. Moroziuk made a substitute appearance 87 minutes into the game.
He played his next match for the Yellow-Blues only two years later. It was a friendly against Norway that took place on February 6 2013. 17 minutes into the match he hit the target and Ukraine won 2:0. Since then Mykola has been playing for the national team regularly.
2015/16 season will be special for Mykola Moroziuk as he’s returned to his native club – FC Dynamo Kyiv.
