On Friday, 3 July, Dynamo Kyiv played their fifth friendly of the summer training camp. The White-Blues faced Austrian champions LASK.
The opening minutes saw both teams enjoy spells of possession, but neither side managed to create any real danger in front of goal.
Dynamo came close in the 15th minute when Redushko delivered a low cross into the six-yard box, but LASK's defenders prevented Ponomarenko from getting a shot away. A few minutes later, Pikhalonok struck powerfully towards the near post, forcing Jungwirth to tip the ball behind for a corner.
Dynamo's defenders also had work to do as LASK launched several attacks of their own, although they failed to seriously threaten Neshcheret's goal.
The relatively quiet game came to life midway through the first half when Dynamo opened the scoring. The move started with a throw-in before the ball was quickly worked into the LASK penalty area. There, Shaparenko produced an excellent pass for Ponomarenko, who finished first time.
LASK looked much more aggressive after the break. Arakate came close with an effort that narrowly missed the target. Moments later, the Black-and-Whites created another opportunity to equalise, but Kebe headed over the bar from close range. Dynamo responded through Redushko, whose cut inside and long-range effort tested the opposition.
The intensity increased in the second half, with the referee forced to issue several yellow cards following a number of fouls.
LASK had another chance to level the score when the ball unexpectedly reached Flecker after Lang's cross, but the midfielder failed to convert. Dynamo responded immediately. Ponomarenko almost went through one-on-one with the goalkeeper, before Voloshyn, left unmarked by the defence, aimed for the far bottom corner, only for Schillinger to make an excellent save.
Dynamo's next attack brought the second goal. Voloshyn burst down the wing and squared the ball for Ponomarenko, who completed his brace to seal a 2:0 victory.
Dynamo now turn their attention to the first qualifying round of the UEFA Europa League, where they will face Universitatea Cluj in Lublin on Thursday, 9 July.
