Friendly. Dynamo – Rapid Bucharest – 1:3. Match report

On Thursday, July 2, Dynamo Kyiv played another match during the training camp that the team is holding in Austria. The opponent of "White-Blues" was Rapid Bucharest, a representative of the Romanian top division.

Ihor Kostiuk's side, playing with an experimental lineup, started actively, and in the opening minutes the opponents blocked dangerous close-range efforts from Rubchynskyi and Guerrero. Shortly afterward, Ogundana missed a great chance to open the scoring – Shola went through on goal but shot straight at the goalkeeper.

There was also plenty of work for Dynamo goalkeeper Surkis. In particular, Viacheslav dealt with a low shot, and at the end of the first half he twice rescued the "White-Blues" – first by catching the ball in a diving save when the opponents broke two-on-one against Dynamo's goal, and then by reacting to a close-range effort, after which Korobov provided cover and cleared the ball off the goal line.

During the break, Dynamo's coaching staff made several substitutions, but soon after the restart the Kyiv side conceded. In the 53rd minute, a Rapid player delicately chipped the ball from the right side of the penalty area to the edge of the six-yard box, where El Savi headed it past Olkhovyi to make it 0:1.

Dynamo responded quickly with an equalizer. Buialskyi entered the penalty area from the right flank, and a Rapid defender stepped on the captain's foot from behind. Vitalii Buialskyi took the penalty himself, calmly sending the goalkeeper the wrong way to level the score at 1:1.

In the 75th minute, a penalty was awarded at the opposite end. Following a throw-in, Olkhovyi and Tiare failed to clear the ball between them, and the referee eventually spotted a foul on a Rapid forward. Brumaz confidently converted the penalty past the goalkeeper to restore Rapid's lead at 1:2.

Shortly afterward, the Romanians came close to adding another goal when Codor struck from a promising position, but the ball went just wide of the post. However, the final word belonged to the Bucharest side. In the 89th minute, Camara surged down the left wing, evaded Buialskyi's desperate sliding tackle, entered the penalty area, and from a tight angle fired the ball inside the far post to make it 1:3.

Dynamo suffered their first defeat of the training camp in Austria. Tomorrow, the "White-Blues" will play their final friendly match, with Austrian side LASK as their opponent.
