On the morning of Saturday, February 14, Dynamo Kyiv played their penultimate friendly of the winter training camp in Turkey. White-Blues faced Zimbru representing Moldova’s capital - Chișinău.
Zimbru opened the scoring in just the 2nd minute. Zolotov delivered a diagonal cross, Kozlovskyi controlled it and finished with one touch into the net.
Dynamo responded quickly. After taking control of possession their positional attack ended with a low cross from Tymchyk and Vitalii Buialskii accurately placed the ball into the far bottom corner to equalize.
Teams maintained a high tempo exchanging attacking attempts. Andrii Yarmolenko, making his debut appearance at the camp, sent in a dangerous cross toward Guerrero but a defender intercepted it. Soon after another delivery from Tymchyk failed to find a target.
Midway through the first half Dynamo took the lead. Yatsyk won the ball near the byline and passed to Guerrero. The forward squared it across the box, Buialskii let it run and Yarmolenko fired home to score his first goal of the Turkish camp.
However Zimbru responded immediately. Dosso found space, broke into Dynamo’s penalty area and scored to make it 2:2.
Dynamo pushed to regain the lead. Ogundana found himself in a good shooting position after a throw-in but missed the target. Guerrero had two more chances - one blocked for a corner and another effort from Buialskii saved by goalkeeper Odintsov.
Zimbru also had an opportunity when Luan dispossessed Zakharchenko and broke into the box but his low shot was comfortably handled by Surkis. At the other end Karavaiev crossed for Buialskii but the captain’s shot went wide. Teams went into halftime level at 2:2.
Early in the second half Dynamo struck again. Mykhailenko received the ball from Ogundana and unleashed a powerful shot from outside the box that Dokic, who had come on at halftime, could not stop.
Five minutes later Zimbru equalized. Vasilevici capitalized on a mistake by Karavaiev and finished one-on-one against Morgun to make it 3:3.
The score did not remain level for long. In the 60th minute Zakharchenko carried the ball down the flank and passed to Yatsyk whose cross found Buialskii. The midfielder finished first-time to put Dynamo ahead for the third time in the match.
Dynamo continued to press. In the 68th minute Buialskii delivered a free kick to the far post where Guerrero headed just wide.
Late in the game Dynamo were awarded a penalty after Jonatas fouled Diallo in the box. Guerrero converted from the spot, sending the goalkeeper the wrong way to make it 5:3. Shortly after Popov nearly added a sixth goal but his header was tipped onto the post by the goalkeeper.
In the end Dynamo secured a 5:3 victory in an entertaining friendly. Later that Saturday they were set to play another match against Latvian side RFS at 16:00 Kyiv time.
