FC Dynamo Kyiv defender Olexandr Syrota has told about the start of the training camp in Turkey and shared his expectations of the first friendly:
- Training camps are never easy, but we must go through this. Currently we have two sessions a day. That’s tough, but this is what a training camp is about.
- What do you think of local infrastructure?
- Everything is really good. As far as it’s cold in Kyiv, the turf is very firm, but here’s it’s in a good state.
- You have a lot of game exercises, like tennisball. Do players like that?
- Sure, it’s fun to compete like that. That gives everyone a boost of positive emotions.
- You often practice shots on goal after training session. How important is that for you?
- It’s important for a defender as well as for other players. When the whole opposing team is defending, center backs play a crucial role. They need to join attacking actions and shoot when there’s a chance.
- Serhiy Fedorov has joined the coaching staff. Is he mostly working with defenders?
- That’s right, he focuses on defense as he used to be a defender himself. I’m sure we can learn a lot from him.
- Did you work with him in the youth team?
- I did. We worked together in Dynamo U19, in the youth team. Besides, when I joined the first team he was assistant coach.
- Dynamo will play the first friendly at this training camp tomorrow. What do you expect of it?
- First match is important as it lets you feel the game rhythm. I guess everyone will play one half.
