On Tuesday, February 3, Ihor Kostiuk’s team held two training sessions at the camp in Belek.
The morning session began with an intensive warm-up which concluded with players working in groups of four, paired together using resistance bands. During the exercise each player had to deliver accurate passes without touching the training mannequin.
The main part of the session then followed focusing on tactical structure as well as coordinated team actions in both defense and attack.
Work on the pitch continued during the evening session. This time the coaching staff placed a greater emphasis on game-based drills. In one of the exercises players took turns launching quick attacks and were tasked with converting their numerical advantage.
In another game exercise the squad was divided into two teams competing on a reduced-size pitch. No winner was determined in regular time so the outcome was decided by a penalty shootout with Oleksandr Karavaiev scoring the decisive spot kick.
“White-and-Blues” were also visited during training by Vicente Gómez, assistant coach of the Ukraine national team, and Unai Melgosa, head coach of the Ukraine U21 national team. Both guests spoke with Ihor Kostiuk and players.
On Wednesday in the first half of the day first team will support Dynamo’s youth side by attending the UEFA Youth League match Dynamo vs Atletico. In the evening, on the eve of the friendly against Veres, Ihor Kostiuk’s players will have another training session.
