- When you were assigned as assistant coach you told that it was precocious both to congratulate you and to sympathize. Is the new assignment the best possible present for your 40th anniversary?
- Sympathy was definitely inappropriate at that moment. I had been working in Dynamo coaching staff and I liked the job.
I don’t think that we’ve already made some rapid changes. I guess our performers have just relaxed and started to play the way they like.
I hope that next season they’ll also realize that our training program is necessary and that it’s important to demonstrate true dedication on the pitch.
- Early this year you had a practical training at Borussia Dortmund camp. Could you imagine at that moment that you would have an opportunity to use the new experience so soon?
- Of course I didn’t. I just wanted to figure out how Borussia head coach achieved positive results within rather short period of time having no super stars in his team. It was interesting to follow the training process.
- Younes Belhanda has mentioned that you understand foreigners’ mentality better than the previous coach. What helps you more: your own experience of foreign player, ability to speak foreign languages or insignificant disparity of years?
- I guess that all matters. It’s interesting for me to communicate with players.
- You used to take part in Dynamo training sessions. Has anything changed now that you are the head coach?
- My human relations with players haven’t changed. Here’s an example: Lukman Haruna didn’t perform in the Ukrainian Cup final. Still he analyzed the reasons for that and congratulated me on the win after the game.
Players understand that no one will get the starting spot due to friendly relations!One must prove claims in training process and matches. Anyway I can also take part in some exercises sometimes.

- Roman is a decent guy and he knows that it’s necessary to stay fit no matter what. One must always stay a professional as substitute appearance is also a chance to get the regular starting spot.
