On July 9, FC Dynamo Kyiv played another friendly at the training camp in Switzerland, where they’re getting ready for the Champions League qualifiers against Fenerbahce. Our team defeated FC Luzern 2:1. Tsyhankov opened the score from the penalty spot while Verbic increased Kyivans’ lead. In the second half, Emini hit the target and thus pulled one back.
Anyway the match wasn’t just about sports. A lot of Ukrainian refugees, including hundreds of kids, who had to leave their home because of war, came to the stadium this day. They were supporting the team passionately throughout the game. After the final whistle, they had a chat with Dynamo players, took photos, got autographs and wished our team all the best.
Mykola Shaparenko, Heorhiy Bushchan and Viktor Tsyhankov were especially popular among our compatriots. But the most popular one was the head coach Mircea Lucescu. This meeting was about warm atmosphere, joy and lots or positive emotions.
That kind of communication means a lot. Players supported people, who’re currently far from home because of russian aggression.
